Ring of Kerry, Irish band

Ring of Kerry is a bursting-with-energy Irish music group that captures the hearts of listeners. All five of its engaging musicians sing and play several instruments. With sounds that range from the thunder of the Irish bodhran drum to the sparkle of the hammered dulcimer; from the lilt and rhythm of fiddle and guitar to the haunting wails of flutes and pennywhistles, the band has developed a blend that is animated, ruggedly beautiful and fun. The guys get close to their audience, joking, ribbing and laughing along but are respectful and friendly. Audiences always react with great enthusiasm!
The guys in the group have a wide breadth of performance experience which makes them versatile. With full sound system, they are sometimes a raucous pub band enticing their crowd to sing along, stomp their feet and slosh a frothy beer while at other times they serenade the audience beautifully, strolling from table to table completely unplugged with acoustic instruments. However, they specialize in and excel at playing energetic and engaging stage concerts.

What people are saying:
"Ring of Kerry is in love with the music that the Irish and Scots took with them as they made their way from the Old World to the New. Here are tunes sweet and raucous, rough and smooth; tunes for dancing or drinking or loving or even working; songs about railroads and robbers, farms and pubs and the odd battlefield. The accents here might be mid-American, but the sentiments cross oceans and centuries with ease. This is living music, played live and lively, so raise your glasses and dance and sing along."
--Russell Letson, a contributor to Guitar Magazine wrote the preceding for Ring of Kerry's Live-in-Concert CD, "St. Paddy's Eve"
